Maarten Vermeulen has been working at ANA architects since 2017. For him, architecture is a means to emphasize the relationship between people and the world in which they live and to strengthen their connection. He believes that shaping the collective space and the space between the program parts is crucial for creating good buildings. He enjoys working on the daily condition in which people live – always looking for special typologies for everyday life. Maarten graduated from the Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam with a plan for a collective residential community, entitled ‘House for the sovereign man’. He previously worked at Herman Hertzberger, NEXT Architects and as a freelance designer for various agencies.
